What are the eligibility criteria to use pay/request?

You must opt in before you can use pay/request. If you meet the eligibility criteria below, you can opt in for full pay/request functionality – meaning you can send payments and requests and receive payments and requests. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria below, you can opt in if you are invited by a Spruce pay/request user, but you will only be able to receive payments until you meet the eligibility criteria. This eligibility criteria is subject to change. Please check back here for the current eligibility criteria.
Current eligibility criteria:
- Your Spruce Accounts must be open for at least 6 months and in good standing
- You must have received at least $1,000 in qualifying deposits in the past 12 months
- Qualifying deposits are ACH credits, including direct deposits, tax refunds, and transfers from an external account. Deposits that do not qualify are internal transfers, cash transfers, mobile check deposits, or receiving pay/request transfers.
- You must have 8 or more transactions in the past 4 months (not including pay/request transfers)
