Here are some tips to protect your personal info:
- Memorize your login information, password, and PIN and don’t provide or share your personal info with anyone
- Don’t click on links for an email or text you unexpectedly receive. Don’t use any phone number provided in text or email. Look up the contact number online (our’s is 1-855-977-7823) or call the number on the back of your debit card
- Ensure your software is up to date on your phone and computer
- When creating accounts, choose security questions only you know the answer to—not available in public records or online
- Shred any physical documents you discard that has your personal information, including bank account statements or account numbers, social security numbers, health information, credit card applications, insurance forms, billing statements from utilities and phone services, and expired debit or credit cards
- Change your passwords often and don’t reuse them or use consecutive passwords
- Use different passwords for each online account or website
- Be cautious of what information you share on social media, especially if it can be used to guess and answer your security questions or your location like when you’re out of town
